Hello everyone and Happy Procurement Month!

This month is dedicated to public procurement professionals and the great impact they have on their communities. Take time to educate others on the significant role you play every day in public procurement! Also, IPPA is celebrating Procurement Month this March in a variety of ways! Take a look:

  • NIGP Class: Contract Administration in the Public Sector with instructor, Marcheta E. Gillespie, March 6, 7, & 8th!
  • 2018 Spring Dinner Meeting: How to Be a Superhero of Procurement with special guest speaker, Marcheta E. Gillespie, March 7th at 6 p.m. (RSVP by March 5th!)
  • Professional Buyer's Day, March 14th
  • IPPA will have a booth at the Idaho Small Business Contracting Symposium (ISCS), March 22nd at the BSU Student Union Building from 7:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Various Procurement Month Proclamations will be posted on our website (see IPPA's attached!)

Also, IPPA is having an exciting contest! We will be sending an email out once per week during the month of March with 5 questions related to procurement. Whomever gets the most questions correct will be the winner of a Fred Meyer $10 gift card and there may be another winner if you do your best to participate! Keep a lookout for an email soon!!

NIGP talks about the meaning behind Procurement Month:

"When we celebrate Procurement Month, we acknowledge an elite group of professionals that have made a difference in governmental efficiency and effectiveness. This month provides the opportunity to help educate elected officials, administrators, taxpayers and vendors about the procurement process and the admirable work you perform every day.

The underlying theme for all activities during Procurement Month is the promotion and recognition of the field of Public Procurement.  Your colleagues have organized everything from official government resolutions to playful scavenger hunts, trivia games, networking games to a chocolate coined crash course in basic procurement. Enjoy…It’s all about you!"
